DONALD BALLOU
M.S., Strategic Communications
A creative and passionate marketer, dedicated to making positive change through engaging consumers with connective events, impactful brands, and causes worth championing.
How I Got Here
“You have to do what you love to do, and if you love it enough, you can make a difference.”
-Keith Haring
From a small town near Reading, Pennsylvania, I planned my first event in the 7th grade - a dodgeball tournament fundraiser in honor of my Language Arts Teacher, whose daughter had passed.
Completing my undergrad in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, I continued my passion for events. Designing, planning, and organizing my university’s First Year Student Orientation Program and leading a team of 10 students in a record-breaking year of Dance Marathon (a 250% increase YOY) set me up for joining the team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.
May 2025 marked my graduation from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, with a Master’s of Science in Strategic Communications. My culminating capstone project, an innovative framework for brand partnerships, is propelling the next phase of my work, continuing my dedication to meaningful change and improvement within the world of marketing and development.
